McWane Sleepover

Marley is loving being a girl scout! The highlight so far was a sleepover at the McWane Science Center. The night started out with dinner.

Then the girls went to see an IMAX movie about rescue heroes. It was very interesting but kind of depressing. An odd choice for a fun night.

Next, they went to a classroom for science experiments. They made slime, salad dressing and learned about the effects of static electricity.

We went up to the top of the parking deck for an experiment with diet coke and mentos. The girls loved it!

The girls were then set free for free play in the museum. Marley and I had a blast!

The girls had a photo shoot while waiting for lights out at midnight.

Me? I was just waiting for lights out.

Finally, it was bedtime. It was a fun night and I'm sure the girls are already looking forward to next year.

Sewing

The girls have watched me working on this skirt for the past few days. I had left it on the table and came in to see Ellie working in it. She had my pin holder on her arm just how I wear it and had very carefully put the pins along the hem of the skirt. When the last pin went in, she showed me the empty pin holder and declared she had finished her homework.

Christmas Tree!

As always, We went to Home Depot for or tree this year. Marley picked out the perfect tree. It is the perfect height and fullness.

Pretending to be reindeer with the scrap branches.

Loading the tree on top of the van. This is the first year we didn't have a truck or trailer.

Gingerbread Men

Mommom bought the girls a gingerbread man decorating kit to entertain them while we cooked Thanksgiving dinner. They had a lot of fun decorating but Marley almost broke a tooth trying to eat hers. They are strictly for decoration!

Thanksgiving

We had a wonderful thanksgiving. The food was delicious, the company was great and there are plenty of leftovers to satisfy Jason's need for a weekend full of Thanksgiving food.
The spread

Jason fried a turkey for the first time and it was amazing!!

I made an apple pie from scratch for the first time. It was beautiful and delicious. I would say Martha, eat your heart out, but it was her recipe.

The one picture of me and my eyes are closed.

Dog Park

My Daddy takes the new love of his life to the dog park almost every day. Wednesday, he invited us to go with them and I was happy to take a break from Thanksgiving preparations. We all had a great time, especially Marley. Gramps and Marley have decided they will go together on the weekends.
